Kani Basami or (flying scissors) is an illegal move in Judo and Jiu Jitsu competition as it can be very risky on your training partners knee. There are numerous ways to apply the Kani Basami and the jumping version is the most dangerous for your partner. However, this is an extremely effective move and when applied using a post hand can be done with low risk of injury. The Kani Basami has become popular in MMA competition as an excellent single leg counter and heal hook set up.
