Sean Apperson explains the mounted guillotine and which situations the technique can be used. Without the gi, the guillotine is a strong front strangle option. The best time to use this technique is when your opponent turns on their side allowing the angle needed for the arm position. Another way to use this position is to apply heavy chest pressure and try and cross face your opponent to their side.
